Texas CASA provides technical support and training for the local CASA programs throughout the state. They offer the initial training for all new staff, as well as hosting the annual Texas CASA conference and numerous other workshops and training opportunities for staff, board members, and volunteers. They also help establish new CASA programs, aid existing programs with expansion projects, and work with the local programs to secure funding.
National CASA provides support and training for the 900+ state and local CASA programs throughout the country. They host the annual National CASA conference, help local programs with public awareness, and provide consultation and resources for local programs.
The AMBER Alert™ Program is a voluntary partnership between law-enforcement agencies, broadcasters, transportation agencies, and the wireless industry, to activate an urgent bulletin in the most serious child-abduction cases. The goal of an AMBER Alert is to instantly galvanize the entire community to assist in the search for and the safe recovery of the child.
Child Protective Services (CPS) is the branch of Family and Protective Services that investigates reports of abuse and neglect of children. CPS also provides services to children and families in their homes; places children in foster care if necessary; provides services to children in foster care; and places children in adoptive homes.
he Dave Thomas Foundation for adoption is a private non-profit organization dedicated to increasing the number of adoptions throughout the country. The organization provides materials and resources (many free of charge) to families who are interested in adopting and also to organizations that work with foster children.
