Take the first step to becoming a CASA advocate:

CASA CTA Announces July Training Dates

Children in foster care deserve to have their voice heard. Now more than ever, CASA volunteers are needed to make sure that the best interest of children in foster care is represented. At CASA for the Cross Timbers Area, we are seeing an increase in removals and are in need of caring advocates to represent the best interest of the child and his or her family.

A CASA, or a Court Appointed Special Advocate, helps a child in foster care navigate the child welfare system while working to ensure their needs are being met and advocate first for reunification when safe and possible. Our volunteers work closely with all parties involved in the case until the child(ren) are placed in a loving and permanent home.

CASA volunteers come from all walks of like and backgrounds. Our volunteers receive extensive training in order to be the best advocate possible for the child(ren) in their case. Our program director and advocacy supervisors work side-by-side with our advocates throughout the entire process.

If you are interested in becoming a CASA Volunteer, please fill out our application to get the process started. It is recommended that prospective volunteers should complete their application on or before June 20 in order to have adequate time to complete the volunteer requirements prior to our July training. All volunteers must be 21 years of age and have a valid drivers license, access to internet, and be able to pass a criminal background check.

If you have any questions, please contact our Outreach and Development Director for more information.

All July dates will be at the CASA Office in Stephenville.
